The friday morning infomercial!

So ladies and gents, I have a question for you. Has your Step mom ever given you a garlic press that you love dearly but when it came time to wash the fabulous invention you were stumped? Well not any more! I give you the gaaaaaaaalic be gone!(Shoot a picture of a toothbrush) With this handy dandy invention you can get your garlic press to SPARKLE even without the luxury of a dish washing apparatus! (That was for you christy!)

In other news. . . . I discovered yesterday that I have a possible future in the food critic industry. (Don't be jealous mom) I had a coke, same as everyday, but this coke was special. It tasted like a load of brown sugar! When I told our family Coke aficionado (Better known as grandmamom) she rushed right over, traded me cokes, and ran to her lab. After messing with her Benson burners and schematics she reported that my coke had 1/100 th of a drop too much syrup.(Fractions could be slightly off.) Apparently I have very sensitive tastes!

And now for the best news of all! I heard on the radio last night, much to my excitement, that MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice are coming in concert TOGETHER! Grab your hammer pants people! It's time to throw it down old school!

No my resolution wasn't to blog more! LOL

Howdy there amigo's! I've been pretty busy lately but took a littl etime out to update all of you!

The kids are doing fantastic! Finally they are both done having snotty noses and ugly coughs. Caydance has been crazy about music lately. She learned how to sing "3 little monkeys jumping on the bed." She also picks up on lyrics from songs on the radio and just sings the same line over and over. The other day she was trying to explain to grandma that she liked a song that Todd(our friend) sings and got a little irritated that grandma wasn't understanding her.

Athena is rolling over really well on her own. She's working on teething right now so she's fussier than ever in her life. She's also chunking up pretty quick and getting the mysterious giant head syndrome her sister had.

Work is going well. I just switched to days which makes me happier than I can express in writing. I also started 8 hours days but that never really happens. Now that christmas is over busy days are few and far betweeen. My very very awescome supervisor that arranged my shift for me recommended an employee counseling program. So I scheduled an appointment for next week. I figure if it's free why not?

Things with Richard are going well. I'm happy and having fun. He keeps me smiling.

I guess that's all for now. Everyone have a happy Wednesday!

Go Kayleigh! It's your birthday!

LOL Ok well I haven't gone to sleep yet so it still kinda counts as my birthday! I've had alot of excitement going on. I think my 23rd has been my greatest birthday so far!!

I started Friday night by passing my training class in the nick of time! Richard and I, and 2 other couples, spent the saturday and part of Sunday in Park City. We stayed at the Marriott Mountainside and I highly recommend it.(Assuming you are debt free and have saved the $380 per night in your nifty cash envelope!) This place was AMAZING! There were 5 hot tubs steaming in the cold winter air. We rocked some Kareoke. The boys went snowboarding while the girl hit the outlets. And at the end of the night we sleptin candlelit bedrooms with the most comfy hotel mattress known to man!

Today I got phone calls and texts from the bunches of people who love me and I love them back. Dad and Christy took me out to lunch. Everyone was super sweet! Thanks a bunch!

Oh and I almost forgot! Grandma B made my favorite roast for dinner on Sunday. What a sweetie! And on thursday Richard brought me a big bouquet of "Just for being amazing" flowers . Did I hear a unanimous "AWWWWWWW"? LOL Have a happy week everyone.

Emotional Spectrum

It was a pretty crazy day around these parts yesterday. I'll start with the happy happy news. My little teensy tiny bundle of smiles had her first bite of cereal! Yay!! Of course she spit it all out about fifty times while I scooped it back in, but I insist thats a natural tongue movement and not disgust.

On the sad side of the spectrum, the world lost a great great man. Uncle Freddie, brad's great uncle on his moms side, passed away. Not too many of my people got the chance to meet him. Ill tell you a few of the many wonderful things about him.
He greeted every woman he knew with a kiss on both cheeks.
He never let the moment slip by to tell you how beautiful or handsom you looked.
He knew every Tony award winner since the beginning of time!
He sang show tunes at random moments and made happy birthday sound like a masterpiece.
He had the funniest jokes and they were just a little dirtier than you would expect.

In his day Uncle Freddie was quite the star.If you want to get a small glimpse of his shining spirit(and I recommend you do) you can see him in the movie "The RM." He plays the crazy grandpa who wants to serve everyone half cooked hamburgers.LOL.

I loved Uncle Freddie and am so honored I got the chance to know him. I want to end on a happy note. So when Caydance was upset because she couldnt visit Uncle Freddie in Heaven, we explained to her that hes happy up there and with the people he loves. Caydanc will now tell you "Uncle Freddie lives in Heaven with Jesus and his Mommy but we cant sleepover."

The highs and lows of Turkey day

Can I just start by saying how much I love Thanksgiving? How fantastic that we are encouraged to eat so many delicious things in one day!

Well the festivities started at Dad and Christy's house. I would have to say my favorite dish is a tie between the whiskey carrots and the raspberry almond cake. Mmmm. It was fun seeing everybody I really like just sitting and talking with my dad. He could be talking about work and machines going down and management techniques and it totally fascinates me! I love it!

Thursday was a little sad for me. It was my first holiday experience without my little babies. I did however make some fantastic french toast for caydance that morning. Then I got the girls all dressed up pretty to go out with their daddy.

Richard went to visit his family in montana for the feast but sent me beautiful pictures along the way.

Moms dinner was also delicious. I would have to say my favorite was the cranberry maple sweet potatoes. And thats a huge step from dispising the orange root! I did get to spend alot more time with my baby sister Kenzie who is totally not a baby anymore.

Last night I decided to make my very own Thanksgiving dinner for the first time so I could share it with the girls and Richard. I made stuffed mushrooms(which look more like baked potatoes in the pic.) Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cheddar garlic biscuits, and cranberry sauce! Grandma B treated us to pineapple upside down cake as a thank you for sharing.

I'm thankful for a lot this year. For the girls be super cute and healthy. For lots of friends and family. And for my realization of self reliance. It's been a much better year than I could've imagined. I however am not grateful that nobody ever comments! Is anybody even reading these things?

My internal clock needs batteries.

I started training at the USPS REC on Monday. It's pretty sweet so far. I know a few people who work there already. I'm making a few new friends. I'm surprised to see how stressful sitting all day can be on your body. My back is screaming for some Advil and a heating pad as we speak.

So my training schedule, for the first 2 weeks, is 6 PM to midnight. I thought that sounded pretty awesome. There were a few things I didn't consider. For example I realized that since I was pregnant with Athena there have been few nights that I stayed up past 10. So when I reach that mark I still have 2 hours to go. Then I have the wait in the car while it thaws, the drive home, the inevitable wind-down period, and I finally fall asleep somewhere around 230. Then I wake up at 630 to get the girls. To top the whole thing off nicely they have been fighting a massive cold.

So I'm going on my 4th night of practically no sleep. It's obviously taking it's toll. I'm an emotional wreck!(LOL MORE than usual I mean) And it's like I have no control. My body needs a hard reset. Where's the sleeping sand when you need it?

I'm about to get busy!

I am so excited! I start my new job at the SLC REC Post office warehouse on Saturday. I will be happy to be making more money to pay off my debts and start saving or the fabulous things I want in my future. I also like the feeling of knowing that I am providing for me and my girls. It makes me proud.

Brad decided it would be best for us to be only coparenting business partners for now. So we don't really talk and don't see eachother. It makes me a little sad but I am already seeing an improvement. I think it will make life easier in the long rn and maybe make for a better friendship down the line.

Caydance has become mommys superhelper. She is constntly rinsing dishes, throwing out diapers, or shaking baby bottles. She has suddenly become much more playful and interactive with Athena. Her recent obsession is putting up the Christmas tree which I told her we wouldn't to until Thanksgiving and have to remind her of everyday.

Athena has decided to start talking like crazy!! Well I guess it's nore cooing and gurgling than anything else. She's much more alert and is growing into her own little personality. A smile is almost always on her adorable little face.

I have been so so lucky to get not one, but TWO getaways in December! On the 6th I am going with a group of friends to stay in a condo in Park City to celebrate our friend Fivas turning 23. (Many thanks to Heather or providing daycare.) The weekend of the 13th Richard and I are going to Wendover for drinks food and fun! I am quite excited!
