Vacation in . . . . .paradise?

Ello there! Takin a gander at me page now are ya? LOL That was my best attempt at a brittish accent. Let me explain why I would even try!

I was at the Walgreens today waiting patiently for some doctor pharmacist communication and I ran into a person from my past. His name is Adam Bringhurst and he was my 5th grade "boyfriend" Ha ha. Those were the days! Anyway. . . . we were catching up on marriages, divorces, and babies when Caydance tried to climb her way out of the back of the shopping cart. (I don't know if you have been informed of her hobby as a daredevil and stunt double?) I picked her up and held her (35 pounds just doesn't sit as easily on the hip as the little ones!!!) Adam said "You look JUST like your mommy you know that?" We get this alot, alot, alot.

I hear that she acts the same, looks the same, even has the same mood swings! Ha ha!! But today for the first time in a while both of the girls got a HUGE "JUST LIKE YOUR DADDY!!"

Both girls had a cough and runny nose for a while so I decided I would take them to the Dr. I expected a little cold, or a sinus infection maybe. Boy was I wrong. . . . . . *sigh*

Caydance has . . . . . . DRUMROLL PLEASE. . . . . . an ear infection, an infection in her throat, and allergies. (I've never had allergies you see. Not the seasonal king=d with the sniffling and sneezing and those big red puffy eyes. But Daddy Brad has them like crazy.)

Now for the shining star of the day Athena has. . . . . . A small sinus infection, allergies(see above), Empintigo(not sure about the spelling on that but it's these big nasty boils on her skin, which it turns out is genetic to be susceptible and guess who else had it!?!?!?!?!) And to top it all off ASTHMA!!!! She has this sad little breathing machine called a nebulizer that she has to use 3 times per day.

Man. Gotta love those inherited traits LOL! Wish me luck.

College......probably a good idea.

Wow. It's 2:30 in the morning and I can't sleep a wink. There was a party at the pad tonight and I had a blast. Crystal came to hang out which was super awesome and even Kevin and Heather made appearances. I got to make 'sand in your shorts' which is my favorite drink! I saw quite a few old friends and played some fun games.

Then somewhere after that it turned in a totally different direction. As I'm typing this my intoxicated friends are having VERY deep conversations. It starts with natural born talent vs. hard work in relation to success. After that they touched on astrophysics, evolution, medical experimentation, and literature.

In moments like this, I wish I went to college earlier. Or maybe read more books? I have absolutely nothing to contribute to the conversation. I suppose I deserve credit for being interested? For caring about these subjects and wondering about all the other things in the world that I don't yet know exist.

I'm out of my Vulcan mind!

For all that have seen the Star Trek movie, wasn't that the greatest line? Hilarious! Anyway. . . Because I am a GENIUS I added an awesome widget to the bottom of my blog! I can update it at a moments notice with my cell phone and it posts here and on Myspace! Woot!

You see, it turns out that mobile blogging is not so awesome because it limits my post to 140 characters. Which is 2 sentences in Kayleigh speak. So this widget will make thing a billion times easier. Plus it's just super trendy!

That damn Murphy!

All was well on Monday at my physical. But of course that would have been too easy! I guess because I'm broke Murphy's law came into effect on Tuesday and gave me Tonsilitis! So that meant another copay. . . . . another prescription! Grrr. But I'm glad the pain of it will be over soon. My right tonsil is so swollen it looks like I gained ten pounds in my neck! And the horrible sore throat lead to some accidental weight loss so wooo hooo! LOL

I start at Comcast on Monday. I'm pretty excited to get started onsomething new. It seems like something I will enjoy. Even if I don't love it it'll still be a million times better than what I have now.

Super dad says my car will be ready by the end of this month. I can't wait! I keep telling Richard that my left foot gets bored driving his car. And being able to sleep until 7 again will be a welcome return to the norm.

Starting with myself

My pledge to help keep others from a preventable death would mean nothing if I didn't also do it for myself. So first thing Monday morning I headed to the Dr. for a head to toe physical with special attention on my fondly nicknamed "Izzie spots".(I miss her already guys!)

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, A few months ago I got some salmon colored spots on my abdomen. I'm not going to lie, skin cancer was on my mind. I mean. I'm not a tanner but I've had some major burns in my time. And I've been scared to have them checked out. Nobody wants to get bad news, but bad news later might have been devastating news.

Well at first the Dr was a little concerned. After careful examination it was determined that I have Pityriasis Rosea. In lamens terms this means "your skin changed color for no good reason and will return to normal in a few months." So in the mean time I look like a leper but I'm healthy!

All other reports were good. He's slightly concerned I might have a galbladder problem but with the problems Amber had I told him I don't want to persue anything until I feel like it's a problem. He was ok with that. Also, it turns out I'm almost 5'4'' which is freakin awesome! LOL I guess I never really knew how tall I was.

Well now I need to go plant shopping with Grandma B. Love you guys!

Emotional Overload

Brianna. What is there to say that hasn't already been said by fifty other teary eyed people? I know that I can say this much; I was sad to have lost a friend. I was sad I didn't stay closer if for no other reason than maybe I could've helped, could've said something.

But most of all I am suddenly terribly aware of how real death is. How unexpectedly it can rip through a family like a tornado. I just sat there staring at my sisters thinking "Not you. Never you. I couldn't function without you." And being a mom I thought "Not my babies. That can't happem to MY precious sweet little babies because I couldn't be that strong mom who has to comfort the other crying people."

I know I can't stop death. I know that it's going to come at any time and we rarely have a chance to stop it or even slow it down. But I know that from now on, nobody close to me will be taken by something that could be prevented without me attepting to help. There's just no reason for it. Sometimes you just need a little help or someone to just listen even. So I'm here. I'll listen. I'll help. Because I LOVE YOU!

Inhale. . . . . . . Exhale. . . . . .

On the opposite side of the emotional spectrum. . . . .

Richard and I decided that in November (when his lease is up) we would like to get an apartment together. This is a big step but I'm ready and very very happy. So between now and then I have a few goals to take care of. I need to refile and finalize the divorce. I need to file for bankruptcy and get my behind in gear to be financially free and on the way to wealthy. I need to pay my dad for being a million times cooler than DNA requires and fixing my car/ saving my life. And save for the deposit on the new place!

Best Buds

Today is a special day! It's Amy Hunnewells 23 birthday! She's the oldest of my newest friends. When i made the choice to go to Hunter rather than Cyprus I left many friends behind. There were few people I could call a close friend at that time and had a few times when I got very lonely. I almost went bac k to Cyprus for some company but out of nowhere Amy showed up!

She told me that I would be missed. After that i got confident and friends started showi ng up everywhere I turned. I thank her so much for being there when i needed someone for all the years since then. She's a great friend no matter the number of miles between us. I love ya girlie!

Things that make me go MMMMMM LOL

I was tagged with the letter M! So after a little bit of thinking, here we go!

MOMMIES
I love being a Mommy. I love my mommies. I love other mommies and mommy friends. I love mommy shows, mommy books, mommy stories. Anything mommy!

$$MONEY$$
This one can go both ways. But when I have it, when I'm not worrying about it, and when I'm not working with it on a daily basis, I LOVE MONEY!
Midgetory
This what I used to call Heather when we were younger. Back in the day when I felt so much bigger than her. Where I felt I was always the big sister and always the leader. Now I know we take turns, somedays I need her to lead me and she always does standing TALL.

Music
I absolutely love it when you hear a song that gets to the very deepest part of your heart. The song that describes your mood, day, or life perfectly. It's amazing. It can make you feel like you aren't alone because somebody else feels the same way.

Memories
I love that no matter how bad or sad or hard things get you can always have your happy memories. I like moms version "warm fuzzies".

MAKING MILK
The mommy super power. Another thing that makes us better than our men! Pretty freakin awesome if you ask me!

:) MEN (:
Honestly, I'd be lying if I didn't say it. I know you were all thinkin it!

No, no, no! Not THAT kinda man! (Not that I'm complaining) I mean this kind of man. . . .

The kind that will let loose and just have fun. The kind that play with the kids and just make you wanna smile until your face hurts.

The kind that work hard, play hard, laugh, cry, and support you through thick and thin. I love THOSE kinda men.

Make Believe

Because sometimes the most magical real life moments can happen when you are playing pretend.

MONKEY!!!
My little nickname for caydance. It started as soon as she started moving and then never stopped! But I love her so so much!

Matthew Mcconaugheys Muscles LOL
Need I say more? MMMMM!

Stop laughing!

Everyone thought I was jokin when I said that I needed somebody to spice up my blog for me. I'll have you know that I'm very technically challenged! LOL but I figured I would start giving it a try through baby steps.

I also decided I better hop on this get fit train before you all leave me behind in chubbytown! (By this I mean that I am in chubbytown! Not any of you! LOL Might have said that incorrectly the first time.) So look forward to those juicy details.

Now I have to go get ready to go back to work!! The only way I can get enough hours is to pick up split shifts! I would greatly appreciate it if Obama could kick up this economy boost a notch or two!

A little world for little people

Yesterday was free entry day at the Discover Gateway childrens museum. So when work forced me to leave after 2 tiny hours I decided I would take the girls. Mom was worried about the crowds but it really wasn't so bad. My only complaint was that every little blonde haired, blue eyed girl was also wearing a green t-shirt!! LOL So this added a little paranoia but I survived and so did the girls.

Can I just say, this place was freakin awesome!! I remember going to the kids museum and it was fun but nothing like this. You start out in a beehive that teaches the kids to all work together to make fun things happe. They can out balls in all sorts of tubes and and machines and they zip around the room to land somewhere else. There are tons of cranks and gears and knobs and buttons that each have a different job.

Next is the kids eye view room. It's an entire world in their size! There was a construction site complete with blueprints and crane. A postal service that delivered to every location in the "city". A life size house, which was Caydance's favorite. She put away all the groceries she got ffrom the grocery store, washed the table and counter, and then cooked Athena and I some lunch. There is also a farm with chickens, a full size horse, and a garden with fresh fruits and vegitables. There was a little water world that showed the water cycle and a birds nest for kids under 3 to play in.

Upstairs Caydance got to "fly" a real LifeFlight helicopter. She was very excited to fly the helicopter her Papa D got to ride in. Then she spent a few minutes starring in a news cast before she headed to the craft room. Then we built a paper plane and tested it in a wind tunnel, built a robot out of some blocks, and headed home.

It was alot of fun and I highly recommend it for all the kids over 18 months. I'm putting up some pictures, they're a little fuzzy but super cute!

I knew it was coming.

SO since the day Caydance started talking (and then never stopped) I've been waiting for that moment when she says something politically incorrect at a volume heard by the entire establishment. Yesterday that moment finally came. Come along on this parenting journey with me.....

It was too cold for the park but I had told Caydance we would go. What to do? So I drive to the nearest play place at McD's at set her loose. This place was packed like big mac monday or something. There were a group of special needs kids there. Most of their disabilities were not obvious enough for her to notice. She got a little irritated when one girl wouldn't get off the slide but she just thought she was rude! LOL.

So anyway, she comes running up to me "Mommya!" because that's what she's calling me these days. "That boy scared me!" So I ask "which boy?" knowing that this was about to get educational. Now let me pause to describe this very sweet little boy to you. I don't know the name of his condition so I can only describe it. Be aware that all of this is being said with respect. He had a long jawline, larger head, and shorter arms with small fingers.

Now..... I found it interesting that she described him like this. "He has bad eyes." So many other obvious things she may have noticed but she went to the eyes. Kinda sweet. So I did my best describing why her friend looked different. The whole time I'm thinking of Reba "what do you say in a moment like this?"

Every baby is different when they come out of their mommies belly. That's why you, and Tukker, and Lily, and Jaxon all look different. Well when he came out of his mommy's belly he was a little bit sick so that's why he looks different. But he's just like you! See he likes to play on the slide and throw the basketball. He's just a nice friend like all the other kids.

She stuck with "He's sick." Who knows if that's the right way to go about this conversation? But I was satisfied. A 3 year old can only grasp so much you know?

Isn't it great. . . .

when you are feeling tired from staying up with a teething baby. And you feel absolutely miserable, and the only thing that will keep your eyes open during a long shift is a cup of coffee. So you head in and order with the best smile you can manage. And suddenly, the guy behind the counter says "You always look so happy and beautiful when you come i here. Could I take you to dinner tonight?" Man I'm awesome! That's a pick me up! The picture isn't that great but apparently I was workin it.

New blog info

So I found out that Richard reads my blog. That's cute! LOL But he pointed out last night that the about me section really wasn't about me anymore. So It's changed. Much more accurate now. Happy Friday everyone!

Is it hot in here?

Richard and I had a sweet and sexy Valentines Day! We both got all dressed up for the occasion. Richard is wearing Tommy Hilfiger that he found for a smokin good price at NPS. I wore hot little black dress and golden shoes.

Richard planned the night. We watched a movie called Charlie Bartlett. I recommend it. It's pretty cute and hits the emotions a little bit. Then we were off to dinner!

He made reservations at Skybar. It's this gorgeous restaurant on the top of the redlion hotel downtown. We sat in the North east corner and looked over the downtown skyline after dark. There was piano playing right next to us all night playing famous love songs. I ordered the lobster pasta which was good but nothing to rave about. However, Richard ordered the lamb and it was the best thing I've ever tasted! It melted in your mouth! For dessert we had a chocolate soufle. I was impresse with the whole night. Especially how we looked!

The friday morning infomercial!

So ladies and gents, I have a question for you. Has your Step mom ever given you a garlic press that you love dearly but when it came time to wash the fabulous invention you were stumped? Well not any more! I give you the gaaaaaaaalic be gone!(Shoot a picture of a toothbrush) With this handy dandy invention you can get your garlic press to SPARKLE even without the luxury of a dish washing apparatus! (That was for you christy!)

In other news. . . . I discovered yesterday that I have a possible future in the food critic industry. (Don't be jealous mom) I had a coke, same as everyday, but this coke was special. It tasted like a load of brown sugar! When I told our family Coke aficionado (Better known as grandmamom) she rushed right over, traded me cokes, and ran to her lab. After messing with her Benson burners and schematics she reported that my coke had 1/100 th of a drop too much syrup.(Fractions could be slightly off.) Apparently I have very sensitive tastes!

And now for the best news of all! I heard on the radio last night, much to my excitement, that MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice are coming in concert TOGETHER! Grab your hammer pants people! It's time to throw it down old school!

No my resolution wasn't to blog more! LOL

Howdy there amigo's! I've been pretty busy lately but took a littl etime out to update all of you!

The kids are doing fantastic! Finally they are both done having snotty noses and ugly coughs. Caydance has been crazy about music lately. She learned how to sing "3 little monkeys jumping on the bed." She also picks up on lyrics from songs on the radio and just sings the same line over and over. The other day she was trying to explain to grandma that she liked a song that Todd(our friend) sings and got a little irritated that grandma wasn't understanding her.

Athena is rolling over really well on her own. She's working on teething right now so she's fussier than ever in her life. She's also chunking up pretty quick and getting the mysterious giant head syndrome her sister had.

Work is going well. I just switched to days which makes me happier than I can express in writing. I also started 8 hours days but that never really happens. Now that christmas is over busy days are few and far betweeen. My very very awescome supervisor that arranged my shift for me recommended an employee counseling program. So I scheduled an appointment for next week. I figure if it's free why not?

Things with Richard are going well. I'm happy and having fun. He keeps me smiling.

I guess that's all for now. Everyone have a happy Wednesday!
